My old (22 years!) dryer just went belly-up ..after several years of having issues. Originally, I was looking for the cheapest dryer I could find, but when I learned of Speed Queen, and did a little research, I was drawn to it because of the quality, and the fact it was made in the US (This is huge for me).
Yes, it's kind of pricey, but I'm hoping that I won't need to purchase another dryer for a very long time. Time will tell, but assuming it's as good as it seems so far.....when my current washer gets retired, I'll be getting a Speed Queen TC500 to match!
I'd also like to add that the 5 year warranty for parts AND labor does instill confidence!
(Although my overall rating shows as a 4 out of 5.....it's only because I couldn't give it a 4.5 out of 5....which is what I WOULD rate it.)

The clothes are dried completely without over drying, the three settings delicate, perm press and regular are easy to understand and protect the clothes as well. It is the best dryer I have had with a easy to clean lint trap and love the light inside.

If you don't care how the pair will looks on your laundry, I'm not sure if you'll need to spend too much on a dryer.
This one is good. A large load will take the entire 70 minutes to dry, and with towels or jeans, I'll have to add about 20 more minutes. Overall is good.

Everything is great except the link collecting area. It is in the bottom front when you open the door, so link gets on the cloths when you take them out or if you empty the lint trap first, the lint can spray on the clean clothes. Speed queen is awesome and I can't believe they don't make a top lint collection area, so it ever comes in contact with the clothes. They should strongly consider that

I did a vast amount of research about reliable dryers and saw most Laundromats using the Speed Queen products. I talked to the owners, and they all said, "If you can afford it, buy a Speed Queen product" So, after purchasing our first home, we bought the DC5003WG, and it's worked great.

I got all wrapped up in front loader hype. Man I wish i didn't lg did not even make it 7 years and wanted 700 parts and labor to fix dryer. I switched to speed queen because of my dad has had his for 12 years zero problems. Speed queen is actually quieter, is double the size of front load. Actually dries blankets sheets and comforters one time through. I know it may not be a government who cares energy star appliance it it dries in one cycle not 3 so that is energy star to me. And if ever was to break needing a computer or repair so simple front comes off everything there to fix and parts reasonable priced. Waiting on washer to break to get a matched set. Buy a speed queen do not look back.

Our machine is awful. We got rid of the washer because it didn't spin out. I kept the dryer because it was a pain in my mind to return that too. Well here we are 4 months later and the piece in the back of the dryer is melting like!! What the heck!!! I am over speed queen.

I recently purchased this dryer to replace a 15 year old Maytag which was still working but the on/off knob broke off which made it unable to start. I purchased this model since it was suggested to me by the salesperson at Coburn's Supply as it was the highest available model with an agitator and without excessive electronics.

I am a laundry fan! I really like my new Speed Queen washer and dryer. The dryer works as it is should and simple to operate. Enough settings, but not so many to be overwhelming. I love that the washer has a full-sized agitator and that it fills with water. I feel like my clothes are much cleaner and fresher smelling.

my only complaint with the washer is the the Normal/Eco setting. Laundry detergent suds bubble up the drain which makes this setting not useable. Why even have it on the machine? I've had to stand there soaking up the bubbles to keep from running down the wall.

We have owned a Speed Queen washer for several years and have loved having it. Our old dryer finally died so we took the opportunity to upgrade to a new Speed Queen dryer. When I first got the dryer it worked great! Have had it barely over a year now and I am having to dry clothes twice to get them dry. The lint has been cleaned out and even blew out the dryer vent and cleaned it out good and still no difference! I have called speed queen and guess what…..no one will even come and look at it. The place I purchased it does not work on them and the "local" companies that sell them either don't work on them if you purchase them from their store or don't want to work on speed queen! I am stuck! I bought it for the purpose of having a longer warranty…..so much for that!

Spent big bucks on the speed queens. Read their web site. Washer was tested at 40 dB of noise. Mines registering over 65, very loud. Don't do laundry if you're watching TV. Dryer seems OK. Had to have timer switch, buzzer and whole electrical harness replaced already. Lint basket started warping, had to have that replaced. I believe they're about a year old. Ho hum. 😔
